Exams are probably the worst thing ever right now, i seriously do everything BUT study a day before my exam. How much i love procrastination.

Anyways,
I read the Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka, a weird and anomalous story in which the protagonist, a young salesman named Gregor, turns into a giant Dung Beetle overnight. This relates back to how people deal with transformations that they have absolutely no control over. (e.g. Transformations like puberty or psychosis.) The growing changes of his family life and their relationships with one another as a result of his transformation question us and makes us ask ourselves what would it be like in my family? What would happen? How will i be treated by them? How will i treat my brother or sister if that happened to them?
Although his relationship with his family deteriorates, he simply learns values in life that he never experienced or even thought about during his chaotic human life. Over time he grows to appreciate little things in life, such as music. He questions himself during a moment of enlightenment and wonders, "was he a beast if music could move him so?"
This bizarre story goes far beyond the ridiculous that it becomes allegory. It is truly a remarkable story, and i recommend it to anyone.
There have been many theatrical productions that have adapted this story into their own variously unique different ways. I am still yet to see one of these productions, will let you know if i do!
Back to study now.... xx
